Mount Annapurna at 8091m high is the world’s 1oth highest mountain. It is one of the hardest mountains to summit and has taken hundreds of lives over the years. However, the route to its base camp is not dangerous like that, just thrilling and is therefore one of the most loved and famous trekking route on planet Earth. Annapurna Base Camp trek begins at the serene Pokhara, popularly known as the ‘Lake city’. The trek to Annapurna Base Camp takes you through bucolic villages, gushing waterfalls every now and then, lush green farmlands, incredible 360 degrees spread of mountains, rhododendron forests, Himalayan way of life and the flora and fauna local to the region. This is a base camp trek suited even for people with limited time to spend. The standard itinerary is of 15 days usually but can be cut short to 11 days or under 10 days as well; as per your requirements and experience in trekking. However, if you want to do a more relaxed trek to the Annapurna Base Camp and see more of the region, Annapurna Sanctuary trek offers you that.
Best Season
Autumn or Fall which is from September to November and Spring which spans out from Match to May, are your best seasons to trek to Annapurna Base Camp. In these seasons, the days are sunny and so you get clear views but the nights are still going to be chilly. However, if you want a very quiet kind of a trek and can withstand a little adventure doing this trek in the winter (December, January and February) and during Monsoon or summer is possible as well.

ABC ( Annapurna Base Camp) is a glacier basin in Annapurna Range’s heart, it is surrounded by world renowned peaks like Hiuchuli ( 6,441 m), Gangapurna( 7,485m), Annapurna (8,091m), Varaha Sikhar (7,847m), Annapurna South ( 7,219m), Annapurna III (7,855m) and also the Machhapuchre or the Fishtail mountain (6,993m). The only route follows through the Modi Khola Valley which requires you passing through beautiful lowland villages that are steeply terraced, bamboo, oak and rhododendron foests and takes you to the high mountains and glaciers.
