But it is these three cities that have so much to offer. You will witness various forms of India within India. These three cities will bring you to close the changing and western lives of Indian cities to the middle age villages existing in serenity. India has history of kings and rulers like no other country in the world. The Moguls were probably the most important rulers of India. And this trip will take you through cultural and interesting personal lives of then emperors of India, The Moguls. From the famous Taj Mahal, colorful Jaipur, the monuments and historical remains in New and Old Delhi to amazing temples, large forts, tall minarets, magnificent and lavish palaces etc., and so much more, India is a travelers’ elixir.

Itinerary

Day 1

Upon your arrival in India at the Indira Gandhi International Airport ( IGIA), you will be welcomed and greeted a representative from Eco Himalaya tours. You will then be transferred to your hotel; you will be assisted with the check in and also be briefed about the tour. You will later have the day to yourself, so you can adjust to the new things.

Day 2

After you have had your breakfast, the guide that has been assigned to you will pick you up and the sightseeing will officially start with a visit to Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India, and is architecturally magnificent. You will then explore the hustling local bazaar, lives and culture of the Chandni chowk area on a rickshaw. Our next stop will be the Humayun’s tomb. This is a significant tomb showcasing the monumental style architecture of the Moguls. The next stop will be Qutumb Minar, it is an 800 year stone tower, and also the tallest one in India. The tower is surrounded by ancient Muslim and Hindu complex. We will then continue to Raj Ghat, it is where the great Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Other places of interests on your way will be the Red fort, different government buildings. Because all these locations are nearby, even though it looks like a hectic schedule, you will have enough time to go through everything in slow pace, take pictures and learn more about the places.

Day 3Delhi-Jaipur ( By road)

We will drive to Jaipur after breakfast. You can stop anywhere en-route for pictures or coffee break. After arrival you can check-in at your hotel and spend the day in leisure.

Day 4Jaipur

Meal: Breakfast

After a hearty breakfast, you will visit the Amber fort that is located on hillside. It used to be ancient capital of Rajasthan. You make the way up the fort on the back of an Elephant or you can choose a jeep ride as well. Once you enter the fort you will be absolutely stunned with the beauty and magnificence of the fort itself and the palaces inside. We will drive back to Jaipur in the afternoon and on our way stop at the famous ‘Hawa Mahal’ (it translates to palace of wind). Our next stop will be the City Palace Museum; it is an absolute delight as the museum has a collection of Rajasthani armory and costumes. There is a stone observatory, the largest in the world that still works. You will be escorted back to hotel after.

Day 5Fatehpur Sikri

Jaipur to Fatehpur Sikri ( Agra) by road

After breakfast we will drive to Agra. The magnificent and large, Fatehpur Sikri is en-route, it is a historically significant city and has most amazing of Mogul architectural styles. Then Emperor Akbar took keen interest in building this city, it was built in 1569 and abandoned 15 years later due to lack of water. You can visit local market in Agra after arriving there and taking a breather in your hotel. The Agra market has some unique and exclusive marble inlay and embroidery masterpieces.

Day 6Agra

After a hearty breakfast, we head to Taj Mahal early in the morning. Taj mahal is the most visited monument in India, so it is very crowded during day time. Also, it is closed on Friday. You can take horse driven carriages to the main entrance. Built by the Mogul Emperor Shahjahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz, Taj Mahal is one of old Seven Wonders of the World. Later we visit the largest fort in India, the Agra fort. Agra fort used to be the centre for administration before it was moved to Red fort. The complex is such a work of art, it is simply breathtaking and large.

Day 7Delhi

Agra to Delhi by road (Meal breakfast)

After your breakfast, you can enjoy a relaxing morning in your hotel. We will drive to Delhi later; you can stop of photos or coffee break anywhere en-route. Your guide/ our representative for the tour will see you off at your hotel or airport.
