Overview

Only 7-8 hour drive away from Kathmandu, the splendid beauty of Langtang region awaits its travelers. Although not far away from capital Kathmandu, most of the Langtang region is declared as a National Park and thus remains untrodden. The hustling sounds of Trishuli river below, Himalayan ranges ahead, layers and layers of blue hills ascending from the lush green deciduous forest and dimming slowly in to the horizon, Tibetan lifestyle and culture fused with Nepalese ancient ways, pink, red and white Rhododendron blooms, cherry blossoms and other regional flowers decorate the way along and make it a heavenly Journey. This is a perfect trek to explore Himalayas for those who have a limited time in Nepal and are fairly new to the Himalayas. This trek gives you the feel of Tibetan highlands with its Tibetan lifestyle, prayer flags, prayer statues and people. The farthest point in the trek is Kyanjin Gompa and the starting point is Syafrubesi. One can enjoy 360 degree view of Mountain ranges from Kyanjin Gompa, it is also known as Mount Langtang. Langtang Valley is famous as the valley of glaciers and you can enjoy spectacular mountainous views. You can enjoy the views of Langtang Lirung (7, 227m), Gangchhempo (6,388m), Ponggen Dokpu ( 5,930m), Naya Kangri ( 5,846m), Yala peak (5,500), Ganesh Himal (7,429m) in the lovely rural setting of small villages along the way. Langtang Valley trek gives you more than one can ask for.
Best Season:
Autumn or fall ( September to Mid-December) and from March to May in spring are the best season for this trek, however those who can tolerate extreme cold can do this trek is other seasons as well. For those interested in varieties of plants monsoon season can be a treat in this region but of course it is not advised to trek to hills in rainy season.

4-5 hours trek from Syafrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,460m) overnight at tea house.

Day 3lama hotel-langtang village

4-5 hours trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3,550m) overnight at tea house

Day 4langtang village-kyanjing gompa

2-3 hour trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,900m) from Langtang Village (3,550m), O/N in a guest house at Kyanjin

Day 5free exploration day

Hiking around Kyanjin Gompa Valley and back to Kyanjin Gompa overnight at same hotel
