The Langtang Valley Trek is a popular Himalayan adventure that offers breathtaking landscapes, vibrant local culture, and a blend of natural beauty and spiritual richness. Situated close to Kathmandu, it is an excellent choice for trekkers seeking an accessible yet rewarding trekking experience. Known as the “Valley of Glaciers,” Langtang Valley is home to towering snow-capped peaks, verdant forests, and charming Tamang and Tibetan villages.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. This is a day for rest and preparation for the upcoming trek.

Day 2Drive to Syabrubesi (1,470 m) – 6-7 hours

The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, crossing rivers and small villages. Syabrubesi serves as the starting point for the trek.

Day 3Trek to Lama Hotel (2,350 m) – 6 hours

From Syabrubesi, the trail winds through dense forests, waterfalls, and rhododendron groves. You’ll pass several small villages before reaching Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4Trek to Langtang Village (3,310 m) – 6 hours

Today, the trail ascends through more forests and fields, with a stopover at Gatlang and Mundu. The views begin to open up as you approach Langtang Village, where you’ll experience authentic Tamang culture.

Day 5Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,749 m) – 4 hours

A shorter hike brings you to Kyanjin Gompa, the main highlight of the trek. The area is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, and you'll have the chance to explore the monasteries and hike to Tserko Ri for a panoramic view.

Day 6 Acclimatization and Exploration at Kyanjin Gompa Ri (4,984 m)

Spend the day hiking to Tserko Ri (4,984 m) for stunning views of Langtang Lirung and other peaks, or exploring glaciers and local monasteries. This helps in acclimatizing for the high-altitude return trek.

Day 7 Trek back to Syabrubesi – 7–8 hours

The return journey follows the same trail, passing through forests and traditional villages. It's a scenic descent filled with opportunities to reflect on the trek.

Day 8Drive to Kathmandu – 6–7 hours

The final leg of the journey takes you back to Kathmandu through the scenic route. You can rest, enjoy a farewell dinner, or explore more of Kathmandu’s vibrant culture before departure.
