Overview

since last decade this is a very popular trek. But this is a special trek for the exact same reason. Lies to the east of a very popular trek, the Annapurna Base camp trek and is an absolute unspoilt gem of treks. The Mardi Himal Base Camp is at the base of Mardi Himal (Mountain) and spectacular Machhapuchre or Fishtail. You have magical view of Himalaya at the base camp. That is not just the main attraction though. The trail leading to the base camp is just as exciting. The trail follows small and winding paths along rhodendron forests till 3,3000m after which the tree line becomes scarce. Above 3000m the landscapes take quite a turn, you start witnessing high mountains, views of Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, Macchapuchre and Hiunhculi. Once you reach High base camp at 3,580m it takes around 3-4 hours to climb up to Mardi himal. There are tea houses and guest houses along the way for food and accommodation, however in peak winter months like January and February there might be none to very few accommodation options.
